After dancing a lot during the day for school, its hard to keep myself motivated enough to do more at home to make myself a better dancer. People may think I'm cray cray for doing anything at home because of all the dance I have throughout the day but no. That's not really how I see it.

I have a hard time watching things like dance moms and not comparing myself to them. I know its ridiculous but I can't help it! These kids are 8-12ish years old and they are able to do all these incredible tricks and what not and I've been dancing for 17ish years. That's A LOT! and I'm not even half as good as those kids. Its insane! I will definitely never be able to do quite a bit of what they do, but I still think that if I work at it, I will be able to be as flexible as them or at least more flexible.

I have never had it easy with flexibility. Its always been something I've had to work at. Before BYU I had never ever touched my toes before. Welllllll now I can! and I can HOLD it there without crying! This is a huge deal for me.. dancing for 15 years and never being able to touch your toes is absolutely retarded. My body has changed so much since coming here and learning all that I have and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I am loving the improvements that I am making.

Last night I watched the latest episode of dance moms and my gosh. Those kids are incredible. It just left me feeling inspired to stretch and do better. It was too late for me to do anything last night when I finished the episode so I made myself a promise that I would work on it today.

And I did.

I just finished and I can already see improvement. It feels soooooo goooooood!

Sometimes when I see someone really flexible in class at school I'll ask them if they were born like that and a ton of them say yes (curses to you lucky lucky naturally flexible people..) But some do say that they worked super super hard at it. I figure, why not? If I want it bad enough, I know that I can do it. I've got the time. I just need to keep myself motivated. I feel like my flexibility or lack there of has held me back long enough and its time to make a change.

Now.. if I could just share that feeling with my sisters so they can start now and not have to worry about this later....
